Found out that Chubb Electric wired our house. I've been going through replacing the switches and outlets that have been in since the house was built. The wires in every box are over stripped and do not meet NEC. My entire house is a fire hazard.
I believe there are a whole lot more customers like Daniel Grippe out there...I worked for Chubb in the mid-late 1980's, and can honestly say that he was tight with his pay, which led to him hiring less-than quality Electricians...Many were not knowledgeable nor experienced enough to wire homes as mechanics but were better used as "top help"...These workers wanted more than just top help pay, so they posed as mechanics and did shoddy work...I had two crews of these workers and constantly had to check their work...What makes it worse is that Joe character who managed the shop ran the crews ragged like a slave driver..."You haven't finished this unit yet?!" trying to rush the workers...He ran me off with this attitude...It wasn't worth the meager hourly wage they were paying me to run a townhouse complex (now Rosewood) up in Goose Creek with shoddy workers, a few were drug addicts or alcoholics who also stole materials from Chubb Electric......
I have used Chubb Electric three times in the last few years for work on my home. They always offer honest advice at an appropriate price. Home projects would be much more pleasant if every company was a great as Chubb Electric. I would not hesitate to use them again in the future.
